- What is happening
From Scratch is a project that was launched in January 2011 at Citilab in order to teach employees of Living Labs how to program. The From Scratch researchers elaborate materials so that people who work in centers such as Citilab can talk correctly about computer and programming, two important concepts when we talk about innovation, and they can transmit that knowledge to others.
Another core theme in From Scratch is computational thinking, an alternative way of thinking and reasoning which involves asking "how" instead of "why". Therefore, the main objective is not making people become programmers, but getting to the side effects that concepts about computing generate in people: how to reason in a more rigurous way, respecting logic and delivering more concise speeches are some examples.
The project From Scratch will last a year.
